Enactment Approval by State Assembly
Perak State Assembly approved the Perak Water Resources Enactment 2023 (Enactment 18).
This forms the basis for the establishment of LPSA Perak.

Background
LPSA Perak functions as a state water resources regulatory body vested with responsibilities and powers under the Perak Water Resources Enactment 2023 to manage state water resources in an integrated manner through licensing mechanisms and enforcement, with particular emphasis on pollution control and gazetting of water resource protection areas.
The Perak Water Resources Enactment was approved by the Perak Darul Ridzuan State Assembly on 27 September 2023.

Enactment Comes into Force
Enactment 18 (Perak Water Resources Enactment 2023) comes into force.
LPSA Perak officially established through this Enactment.
Several state laws repealed:
- Ferry Enactment 1901
- Water Act 1920
- Perak Coastal Management Enactment 2016
2024 – 2026
First Phase
Initial phase of LPSA Perak after establishment.
Main activities include:
- Introduction of LPSA Perak to industry & public
- Setting effective dates for certain parts of the Enactment
- Drafting of Perak Water Resources Regulations (Abstraction & Diversion of Water)
- Water Charges Notice 2025
- Gazettement of Water Resource Protection Areas
1 Ogos 2025
Full Enforcement of Enactment
Full enforcement of Perak Water Resources Enactment 2023.
All provisions of the Enactment become fully operational.
2027 – 2030
Second Phase
Development of additional regulations.
Regulations to be drafted:
- Resource Modification Regulations
- Pollution Control Regulations
- Compound Regulations
- Water Charges (Resource Modification & Pollution Control)
2031 – 2033
Third Phase
Development of regulations for navigation and recreation.
- Regulations & Charges for Navigation and Water Recreation
